Introducing BVQ-Server
The new BVQ-Server ist the core feature of the BVQ 5.2 Release. This first version replaces the obsolete BIRT Reporting Module and provids a much more flexible and accessible reporting engine via web interface. Further services like scanners or alerter will be merged into this new component in the future.

- Topology tables based on favorites stord in the System or All users folder

Chart view compact legend
The new organized legends of the Performance View fixes an long know problem if many objects are shown in one chart. The new legend ist split into two legend areas - metrics and objects. Both can be configured separately.
Metrics
- Names and colors shown below the chart area
- Organized similar to metric selection panel
- Metrics of a common category compacted in one line
Objects
- Names and their line styles shown on the right
Chart view multi line selection
Be able to select multiple objects in a chart by selecting multiple narrow line segments inside a bounding box.
Eases to find their common grouping objects (Same host? Same node? Same array?)
Keys:
- Hold the SHIFT Key to drop the current selection and select only the objects in the bounding box
- Hold the CTRL Key to add the objects in the bounding box to the current selection
Data Migration Tool
The Data Migration Tool is a stand alone utility to perform a migration from old data, stored in DB2 into the new DB MongoDB.

Update from a previous MongoDB Installation step by step
- Preparations
- Checking for correct function of the environment, in particular function of the scanner.
- Manual stop of BVQ Scanner and Alerting-service, Scheduler-services and also of all GUIs and reporting-clients
- Backup of BVQ installation directory and BVQ DB (e.g. DB backup with mongodump, VMware snapshots)
- Starting again the BVQ Scanner
- Update BVQ Install Package Repository:
bvq-package-repository-installer-x64-V5.2(.x).exe
- DB Schema update
- BVQ GUI update
- BVQ Server update
- BVQ SVC Scanner update
- BVQ VMware Scanner update
- BVQ Scheduler update
- BVQ Alerting update
- Performing functional tests
- If necessary inform colleagues about the need to update locally installed BVQ GUI clients.
